What Does L-Glutamine Do

L-Glutamine is an amino acid that is similar to glutamic acid. It is conditionally essential in the human body but acts as building block proteins. It is useful for humans in a lot of ways. It can benefit our digestive system, immune system, muscular system, protein synthesis, sugar carving, trauma, and many more aspects. It can be used as a dietary supplement. Also, it performs its functions in improving the stamina of the body. It can be useful in gaining weight.

Production of L-Glutamine

 L-Glutamine is produced at an industrial scale with the help of Brevibacterium flavum bacteria. It gives a yield of almost 40 grams per liter in 2 days using a carbon source. It can also be synthesized by glutamine synthetase and ammonia. In the human body, 90% of L-Glutamine is produced in muscle tissues; however, it is also produced in our brain and lungs but a minimal amount. On average, as a dietary supplement, 10 gram per day is recommended; however, this dose may vary from 5g to 30g per day. The best route recommended for L-Glutamine is oral intake.
