Rosehip Essential Oil Benefits

Rosehip essential oil is extracted from the rosa canina rose bush. Rosehip oil is very beneficial for face, skin and hair. Rosehip fruits are pressed, and oil is pressed out of the seeds and fruit of the rose plant. Production of oil from the rose plant is a complicated procedure and must be handled by professionals. After seeds are removed from the plant, they are cold-pressed to extract oil.

Rose oil is packed full of vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids that have marvellous effects on the skin. It fixes dull, acne-prone skin, and hydrates it. Rosehip oil

  • Provides moisture to skin
  • Has strong anti-inflammatory properties
  • Improves facial skin
  • Boosts hair growth
  • Treats acne and scars
  • Protects the skin against sun damage
  • Reduces hyperpigmentation, scars and dark spots

Some of the fantastic benefits of rosehip oil include;

Skin moisturizer

Rosehip oil acts as a natural barrier for the skin. Being rich in oleic, linoleic, and palmitic acid, the rosehip oil quickly absorbs into the skin. It supports regeneration of tissues, maintains cellular membrane, and retains moisture of the skin.

Anti-aging properties

An abundant amount of vitamin C in rosehip oil provides anti-aging properties. Vitamin C has intense antioxidant activity that helps to reduce wrinkles and UV damage on the skin. Along with that, carotenoids present in this essential oil regulate the skin and make it brighter and fairer. The oil also contains lycopene that provides skin-rejuvenating properties. It is also known to treat dark spots.

Fights acne and improves facial skin

No one likes acne on their skin and find ways to get rid of acne as soon as possible. If you want acne-free and smooth skin, then rosehip oil is the key.

The powerful nutrients present in the oil help to nourish the skin and fortify it with essential nutrients. It prevents the release of excess oil from the skin, which is the primary reason for acne. Every night, apply two to three drops of rosehip oil on your skin with the help of a cotton pad at least half an hour before sleeping and get your bright acne-free skin back.

Reduces stretch marks

The tearing of collagen and reduced skin elasticity results in the formation of stretch marks. Essential fatty acids present in rosehip oil are easily absorbed into the skin and stimulate collagen production. It stimulates skin regenerative powers, hence reduces the stretch marks. Applying a few drops of this oil on the skin will contribute to treating stretch marks. It may also treat melasma - a hyperpigmentation condition that occurs during pregnancy.

Boosts hair growth

Strong and healthy hair is the desire of every female. Being an amazing source of essential fatty acids, rosehip oil provides healthy hair growth by repairing damaged, dry, or rough hair follicles and scalp tissue. It moisturizes the hair and prevents them from dehydration. Having potent anti-inflammatory properties, it reduces inflammation of the scalp and prevent inflammatory scalp conditions.
